LUNA | The Shadowed Craters
A bright white-based marble featuring a large, dark grey band running vertically, resembling a fissure or deep ravine cutting across an otherwise smooth surface. The band’s edges are uneven and creased into tight, parallel ridges reminiscent of cracks on the moon’s crust narrowing to near-breaking points in places before widening again further along.
Within the grey band, thin threads of white and cream weave through, mingled with small rust-colored flecks, adding a complexity of dimension against the plain white surrounding surface. The contrast between the two tones creates a dramatic effect.
The texture is a fine, even grain with no gloss. The variation lies in the tonal intensity and density of the veining evoking the moon’s surface, marked with fissures and deep shadows, true to the name Luna.
